Mouse Model of Social Dominance and Submissiveness

The Dominant–Submissive (Dom–Sub) mouse model is a unique selectively bred model developed by Prof. Albert Pinhasov to study inherited differences in stress responsiveness and susceptibility to psychiatric disorders. The model consists of two mouse lines exhibiting opposite behavioral phenotypes: Dominant mice, characterized by stress resilience, and Submissive mice, characterized by heightened stress sensitivity and vulnerability to depression- and anxiety-like behaviors. This translational model enables investigation of the genetic, neurobiological, endocrine, immune, and microbiome-related mechanisms underlying resilience and vulnerability to stress-related psychopatholog
