Drug Development
One of the top priorities for our institute is finding new solutions for cancer treatment in our Department for Drug Development.
Our approach is multipronged with several tracks:
- Designing new small molecules for cancer treatment and optimizing them in comprehensive biological models.
- Screening small molecules from commercially available libraries for new applications.
- Repurposing existing drugs, approved for treatment of one indication for treating new indications .
These new treatment solutions target a variety of processes necessary for the development of cancer, including cell division, genomic instability, drug resistance and escaping the immune response. Our multidisciplinary approach, which integrates bioinformatic analysis, together with knowledge from the molecular, cellular and systems levels, gives us a unique edge in drug discovery.
