Igor Koman MD, PhD, D.Sci, has both clinical and research experience in clinical oncology and clinical pharmacology. He a pioneer in the field of personalized medicine, and was instrumental in its genesis. As the head of the Institute, Dr. Koman focuses his efforts on building and supporting a strong scientific agenda and inspiring the exceptional team of dedicated scientists. His personal interests focus on developing personalized target-based therapeutic strategies to cure cancer.
Elimelech Nesher, PhD has been involved in the Institute since its inception in 2014 as a partner creating its structure and guiding its research directions. In his post-doctoral fellowship in Roswell Park Cancer Institute he worked with a variety of cell-based assays to detect changes in signaling pathways and stress responses. He studies the role of histone chaperone and chromatin damage in cancer development and treatment. He works with small DNA-binding molecules which have anti-cancer activity via chromatin damage. Dr. Nesher is also a member of the Department of Molecular Biology in Ariel University and Head of the Lab for Histone Chaperones and Cancer Stem Cells Biology.
Gabriela Rozic, PhD investigated the relation between neuronal activity and the alternative splicing of neurexin genes during her PhD and post-doc. More recently she managed the research of a Multiple Myeloma research laboratory at Sheba Medical Center. She has extensive pre-clinical research experience in drug development in the field of solid tumors and hematological malignancies.
Raichel Cohen-Harazi, PhD has significant research experience in the fields of biochemistry and molecular and developmental genetics. At the Institute, Raichel heads the metabolomics unit. Her research focuses on the metabolic heterogeneity of tumors and their microenvironment. The work aims to use metabolomics to describe the metabolic profile of tumor cells over the course of cancer progression, and the metabolic shifts in cancer-adjacent tissue which support the developing tumor.
Yael Maizels, PhD has a strong background in developmental and cancer biology and has significant experience in the study of RNA binding proteins and epigenetics. She currently focused on developing new ways to organize and synthesize data in an efficient way as part of the Institute’s data management project. She is a key player in the translational oncology project.
Dmitry Rodin, PhD has extensive experience in neurobiology and is a key player in several research projects on cannabis. His responsibilities include conducting clinical trials on innovative non-invasive biosensors for detection of different components in blood including glucose and various xenobiotics. He is also involved in a number of bioinformatic studies
Noa Davis, PhD, has extensive research experience in diverse fields of biology, including human genetics, molecular biology, medical botany and pathological anatomy. She also has industrial experience in various aspects of product development, clinical trial management, intellectual property and regulatory affairs.
